    Writing Tips: Details Matter

See the tip of the pen? See the detail put into it? Someone cared about what they were doing. Do you care about what you do? The making of a meal? The sending of a text? The crafting of a story? Perhaps how you sign a book? Do you ever wonder about the impact that little extra bit of effort leaves?
I recently heard from someone I'd signed a book for. She's an up-and-coming author herself. Her first book hitting print last month. She recently shared with me that the words I'd written meant a lot to her as she struggled to get her novella and her fears to behave. That physical reminder that someone cared about what she was doing leant her a bit of courage. I admit, when she told me this, I couldn't remember a single word I'd written down, but it filled my heart with great joy to know that they touched her and made me all the more glad that I try to pray every time I go to sign a book. Glad also that I try to listen to what God wants on the page, and I don't tend to scrawl out the same thing to each person.

Hope you enjoyed this month's Writing Tip!
