    Writing Tips: Support Each Other

I am blessed with a wonderful and caring local writers' group. And I have been blessed to attend a few writers' conferences and befriend a few more writers. (Befriending is easy - go up, say "Hi," ask about what they write, and exchange contact info so you can stay in touch.) The befriending part is fairly easy. Supporting my fellow writers is pretty easy too.

I read their work (not in a very timely fashion though thanks to my towering To Be Read pile), leave a review on Amazon and/or GoodReads, and share about their stories with others (think my Recommended Reads in my newsletter or my social media).

You can easily do what I do - whether you attend in person writers' groups or online, same goes for conferences.

And did you know doing so would help a small business? Everyone loves those :) Also, did you know most authors earn less than $10,000 a year? (I just recently figured that out.) Your purchase (or reading of an Advanced Readers copy, if you're permitted) and leaving a review where you can, are powerful ways to help your friends.

A lot of times, when you step up, the gesture is returned and spreads to others. You're causing a tsunami of kindness.

Go ahead - give it a try! I've found the side effects quite pleasant :)
